The dashboard

Every column explained, the active and closed views, and why a row turns pink.

The dashboard is the "where do I stand" screen: every campaign on one page, grouped into a card per portfolio and, inside each card, a section per strategy. Each portfolio card carries its own Total P/L and Capital, and each strategy section ends in a Strategy Total row.

The columns

ColumnWhat it shows
Name The campaign name, editable in place with the pencil. Hover it for the position summary — the open legs in one line.
StrategyThe strategy type. Long names are shortened to fit; the full name is in the tooltip.
UnderlyingThe ticker the campaign trades.
Short DTE Days to expiration of the nearest short option leg — the clock that usually matters, because that is the leg that can be assigned.
Time Value (change %) Extrinsic value left in the short legs, and how much of the premium you originally sold that represents. This is the "how much of this trade have I already earned" column. An ITM marker appears when a short leg is in the money.
Long DTE Days to expiration of the nearest long option leg — the LEAPS clock on a PMCC.
Total P/L Realized plus unrealized plus net dividends, for the campaign's whole life.
Capital What the campaign ties up, under the model chosen in Settings — Reg-T or TIMS. See P/L, capital and break-even.
VIX Δ Off by default. Tick VIX Δ column in the toolbar: how far VIX has moved since its close on the day this campaign last traded. Green down, pink up, red up 30% or more.
ActionsView and Delete. Deleting a campaign removes its trades too and cannot be undone.

Click any column header to sort within a strategy section; click again to reverse.

Active and closed

The view toggle switches between campaigns that still have an open leg or capital at risk (active) and those that are done (closed).

  • The active view always shows everything open — a position does not stop mattering because it was opened last year.
  • The closed view adds a time frame — Week, Month, Year, All time — plus a < period > navigator, matched against each campaign's last trade date. That is how you answer "what did I close in August".

Your view, time frame, sort choices and which portfolio cards are collapsed are remembered per browser.

Why a row is pink

A pink row means something on this campaign wants a decision. A warning triangle appears next to the name, and its tooltip lists every reason that fired. Three independent triggers, each switchable off under Dashboard highlighting in Settings — all three are on by default.

TriggerFires whenWhy it matters
Expiring today Any leg, long or short, expires today. Nothing is wrong yet — but after today's close it stops being your decision.
Assignment risk A short leg is in the money with under $0.05 of time value left. That is the shape of an early assignment: the one thing that can change your position overnight without you trading.
Volatility regime change VIX is up 30% or more since the day this campaign last traded. The premium you built the position around is not the premium available now. Rolls will price differently than you expect.

Assignment risk needs a live price, which the instant first render often does not have — the triggers are evaluated again on every market-data refresh, and the row repaints itself in place, clearing when the position is repaired. The 30% VIX threshold is shared with the VIX Δ column and the chip on the campaign page, so "row is pink" and "chip is red" can never disagree.

Why the page loads instantly and then changes

The dashboard renders from each campaign's cached positions — no live market calls, so it is fast even with fifty campaigns. Prices may be stale or missing on that first paint, which is why some cells briefly show -. It then fetches live positions per campaign in the background and rewrites the cells and totals in place; Refresh Data triggers the same pass on demand. Cached figures that do not depend on market data — realized P/L, capital, DTE — are correct immediately, because they are recomputed whenever you write a trade.
